James McCormick per ship Bussorah Merchant, assigned to William Dangar, charged with neglect of duty....John Button states - I am overseer to Mr. Dangar and last Friday week I sent the prisoner up to a sheep station to clean the yards and take charge of the place in the absence of Joseph Pollock, watchman who had been taken to court. On Saturday the prisoner had not cleaned the yards when Pollock returned to his duties. I particularly cautioned the prisoner to clean the yards on Saturday as I considered he would find the yards cleaned on Friday. Pollock returned to his station late on Saturday afternoon.. The prisoner in his defence states that he did clean one yard but did not clean the other and as it was after sundown when he reached home, he did not wait until Pollock came home, as he heard from another man that he was on his way home from court. The Bench find the prisoner guilty and sentence him to receive twenty five lashes

John Skinner appeared as per summons to answer the complaint of John McLoughlin and Francis Stapleton assigned servants for not giving them a proper ration....Having heard the complaints of these men against their master with respect to their rations slops and general treatment, we are of opinion that the rations are good, that they are well clad and that their complaints are altogether frivolous. We therefore award John McLoughlin the punishment of fifty lashes. We acquit Francis Stapleton with admonition as it appears he has received a good character from his master
